¹⁰ God said to him, “Your name is Jacob, but your name will not be Jacob anymore. Your name will be Israel.” So he named him Israel.^{[a] 11} God said to him, “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a community of nations will descend from you, and kings will come from your body. ¹² The land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give also to you, and I will give the land to your descendants after you.”
